Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland (BUND) is a German non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to preserving nature and protecting the environment. The name means “German Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation”. Its subtitle Friends of the Earth Germany indicates that BUND is a member organisation of the international network Friends of the Earth (FoE).


DSW (Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung) (German: Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung) is an international non-governmental organisation addressing Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) and population dynamics. DSW funds its project and advocacy work from private donations and the financial support of governments, foundations and other organisations. It has its headquarters in Hannover, Germany.


Global Nature Fund, established in 1998, is a private non-profit foundation with the stated goal of protecting the environment. It is headquartered in Radolfzell, Germany.

The organisation, which sponsors the Living Lakes Network, marks World Wetlands Day annually by designating a water body as "Threatened Lake of the Year". In 2004 it signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Ramsar.


EarthLink is an international organisation fighting for human rights and the environment, established in Munich, Germany in 1998. With partners around the globe, EarthLink is actively involved in the pursuit of a common cause—harmony between people and nature. Together with the local population, EarthLink designs strategies and measures to protect the environment and to further environmentally conscious development of the people’s living spaces. To have locals participate in project work is an integral aspect for any long-term success.
